The Beginning
In the bustling heart of Manama Souq, Ghulam Mohammed tailors was founded by Ghulam Mohammed. A humble beginning that would set the stage for a legacy of excellence in bespoke tailoring.
1935
A New Chapter
Mukhtar Ahmed joined Ghulam Mohammed tailors as a tailor. Under the guidance of Ghulam Mohammed, who became a father-figure to him; Mukhtar honed his tailoring skills and absorbed the ethos of impeccable craftsmanship.
1939
A Legacy Continues
Mukhtar Ahmed took over the establishment, choosing to retain the name Ghulam Mohammed tailors out of deep respect and gratitude for his mentor. This decision marked the continuation of a tradition built on quality and trust.
1960
Expansion
Seeing the potential for growth, Mukhtar Ahmed founded Gulf Industrial Clothing Co (GICC) under the Ghulam Mohammed Co. WLL umbrella. While Ghulam Mohammed Co. WLL continued to specialize in bespoke tailoring, GICC catered to the demand for industrial uniforms.
1967
A New Home
Ghulam Mohammed Tailors moved to a new location within the heart of Manama Souq on Tejjar Avenue , where it stands to this day. This move symbolized the brand's growth and its deep-rooted connection to the Business community whilst catering to the Bespoke tailoring requirements for the market.
1971
Beyond Bahrain
Mukhtar Ahmed expanded the business horizons by opening Mukhtar Ahmed Trading in Dubai, UAE. This venture into textile fabrics marked Ghulam Mohammed Co. WLL foray into international markets. Although the business was sold in 2003, it laid the groundwork for future endeavors.
1975
A Golden Era
Ghulam Mohammed Co. WLL ventured into international uniforms export business as a separate unit, growing to employ over 900 people. This venture began catering to renowned US-based international brands such as Levi’s, JCPenney, Sears, Guess, Ralph Lauren, and many more. This period of expansion and innovation lasted until 2003, when economic challenges led to the closure of this venture.
1989
A New Generation
The passing of Mukhtar Ahmed marked the end of an era. The business was inherited by his sons; Iftikhar Ahmed Mukhtar, Ishtiaq Ahmed Mukhtar, Emteyaz Ahmed Mukhtar, Khalid M. Mukhtar, who continue to uphold the legacy and traditions instilled by their father.
2005
A Modern Rebranding
In 2008, Ghulam Mohammed Co. WLL was rebranded to Ghulams, adding a contemporary touch to the esteemed brand. This rebranding reflected a blend of traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics, positioning Ghulams as a timeless yet forward-thinking luxury brand.
2008
Modern Growth
Embracing modernity while honoring tradition, Ghulams launched one of the largest garment factories in Tubli, Bahrain. Today, Ghulams boasts five bespoke tailoring outlets across Bahrain and one in Saudi Arabia, employing over 100 skilled professionals. This expansion signifies Ghulams' commitment to excellence and its vision for the future
2015
90 Years Anniversary
2025 marks 90 years since the opening of Ghulam Mohammed Co. WLL, and with the 90 years anniversary, came the launch of the E-Commerce Website.
